Malvern Hills District Council is a small local authority providing services to the residents of Malvern and the surrounding area. Unusually for such a small authority, the council has a strong Finance Systems team, with a good breadth of knowledge over both the Financial and IT aspects of the systems they support. Malvern Hills Finance Systems team also provide Finance System support services to two other local authorities - Worcester City Council and Gloucester City Council.
APT had a conversation with Dave Smith, System Developer at the Financial Systems Team for Gloucester City, Malvern Hills District & Worcester City Councils.
Their existing Bacs payment solution has asked the councils to undertake a hefty financial upgrade, therefore it was decided to look for better alternatives, such as APT’s ‘iConnect’.
“APT stood out from the rest, not only in terms of the product, but for the level of knowledge of the people we dealt with. They were also incredible value for money when compared to our incumbent provider!” enthusiastically explained Dave.
“The implementation of the APT solution was probably one of the most straightforward ones I have ever had to deal with. The support provided was second to none and continues to be so. We are required to process BACS files from several different systems, all of which use different formats. APT were able to handle these with ease for all three authorities.”
Malvern Hills initially implemented the Connect-IP solution but moved to the cloud based iConnect soon afterwards, making use of the File Uploader facility to securely automate payment file uploading.
“As with the original implementation, this migration was handled perfectly by APT and went very smoothly. When we took on the support role for Gloucester City Council Finance Systems, including the migration of their Finance System onto a new platform, we had no hesitation in recommending APT as a solution for their BACS services.”
